About Adverse Drug Reaction Canada
ADR Canada is a national, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that advocates for the prevention of adverse drug reactions. It brings together patients, families, policy-makers, scientists, researchers, health care providers and academics to advocate, develop policy solutions and advance research to prevent adverse drug reactions across Canada.
To improve quality of life by preventing the 4th leading cause of death for Canadians: adverse drug reactions.
We imagine a Canada where our citizens live healthier lives free from adverse drug reactions.
Evidence-based decision-making, innovation, collaboration, good governance, open access, safety and financial sustainability.
1. Establish a national mandatory database to record and monitor all adverse drug reactions.
2. Establish publicly funded genetic screening to identify gene variants in individuals that can lead to adverse drug reactions.
3. Establish a centralized electronic medical record system to improve patient safety and give healthcare providers access to life-saving information.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that one day there is no need for Adverse Drug Reaction Canada to exist.
